The arts have unique potential to connect people and inspire new interest in a place and its traditions. There are thousands of years of indigenous history and culture in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Join us for a discussion with participants from the Connecting Papua New Guinea and Australia through the Arts workshop. Panelists will discuss the links between indigenous artists in our two countries and how to enhance them further, not only to find opportunities to collaborate artistically but also to share knowledge about the practicalities of a career in the arts. Some of the key issues facing Indigenous artists, including cultural appropriation and intellectual property, will also be addressed.
