The Papua New Guinea Association of Australia invites you to its inaugural Newcastle meeting featuring a presentation on PNG History in Perspective. Speakers include Dr Jan McLeod, Suellen Holland and Mark Lynch. Tickets $15 per person includes light refreshment. Contact events@pngaa.net for more information and to purchase tickets.


Dr Jan McLeod is a historian at the University, who has a personal connection 2/4th Australian Field  Ambulance in the Papuan Campaign of WW 2, presents her years of research in her book Shadows on the Track. Mark Lynch will speak on the topic Kiap to Kuskus. Mark first went to PNG in 1959 working in various areas and after Independence worked as Secretary to the National Executive Council. Suellen Holland will talk to her book, Black Sand and Betel-nut: Childhood Memories of PNG. Her Collection of short stories recalls the halcyon days of her childhood and she pays tribute to the place she will always call home.
